The welder opened shop at 10am so Alex used the morning to prep his bike for surgery. This meant taking all the bits and pieces off to allow the welder to get at the break without harming any cables. Jean let him use his shop and all his tools – and essentially let him work in peace… sometimes hovering around giving advice and making Alex nervous.
The welder had a busy schedule but managed to squeeze Alex’s bike in quickly between larger car repairs. 15 min and $15 later the bike was good to go!
We were on the road by noon. Although we had gone off the intended route to reach Saint Denis, it turned out to be a really beautiful ride back down to follow the Saint Lawrence River once again.
The road turned a bit treacherous between Yamaske and Baie le Fevre but thankfully it was short-lived. Somewhere along the way I got ahead of Alex and got to see a wonderful sight! There were frogs lining all along the roads! I had not had a chance to see much of them because Alex would scare them off the roads ahead of me, but now I got to see them all!
Nicolet was not my favorite town – we had trouble finding a place for dinner and settled with McDonalds. I spent a long time debating whether or not to have a McFlurry for dessert, or if it was time to start trying to reign in my appetite…..
I bet you are surprised to hear I decided to forgo dessert!!
